Agree. I first saw this five years ago when my boyfriend at the time wanted to watch it (it was his favorite horror film) and I had such a vitriolic reaction to it that it surprised both of us. It was like watching torture porn.

I appreciate the filmmaking but I cannot believe it is currently at the top of Variety 's 100 best horror movies.
