I agree, Tom Cruise also gave an excellent performance and Les Grossman even surpassed Kirk Lazarus in pop culture.

However, I remember that some felt his character was offensive and perpetuated Jewish stereotypes. Two "problematic" performances getting recognition was unlikely. But Les Grossman is still iconic.
