Nice review and the criticism on the family drama seem common. But I view the satire as a thesis statement and the family drama is a part of the evidence to support it.

Personally I loved the film and I have a Monk in my family so I empathized with his family hard but I'm told the book is better. Hoping it can surprise with a screenplay win.
